Residence Life at New York Tech

Millions dream about making their home (and their mark) in the heart of New York City. Make that dream a reality when you live at New York Tech’s safe, secure Manhattan residence hall. Located at 525 Lexington Avenue at 49th Street, in the vibrant Midtown East neighborhood, it’s just a quick bus or subway ride from New York Tech’s campus.

Staffed by full-time professional staff as well as resident assistants, 525 Lexington offers 24/7 onsite security and maintenance, communal kitchens and dining rooms, a fitness center, a laundry room, social and study areas, and recreational programming and events for all residents.

New York Tech students will share rooms on designated floors. Rooms are furnished with extra-large twin-size beds and mattresses, desks and desk chairs, microwaves, and mini-refrigerators. They feature individually controlled air conditioning and private bathrooms. There are a limited number of single-occupancy rooms along with double- and triple-occupancy rooms available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Summer Housing at 525 Lexington Avenue is available to all New York Tech students and non-New York Tech students with proof of course registration, employment, or internships in the greater New York City and Long Island area.

There is no meal plan available during the summer months. Get more information about dining on or near campus. 

There are a limited number of single-occupancy rooms along with double- and triple-occupancy rooms available.

525 Lexington is close to several grocery stores, ethnic restaurants and cozy cafes; Central Park’s lawns, walking paths, and bike trails; 24-hour pharmacies and healthcare services; a Trader Joe’s supermarket and gourmet markets; world-renowned exhibits at iconic museums, including the Museum of Modern Art. Or hop on the subway and head anywhere in the city!

Finding a roommate who matches your preferences and your personal, social, and academic interests helps ensure a fulfilling New York Tech experience. Our roommate questionnaire is included as part of your Housing Application and Residence Hall Contract. You can also request a roommate if you have someone in mind.

Transportation/Directions

525 Lexington Avenue Residence Hall is located at 525 Lexington Avenue at 49th Street in Midtown Manhattan and is easily accessible by subway, bus, and car. 

Bus

Multiple MTA bus routes serve the area surrounding 525 Lexington Avenue. Nearby stops are available along Lexington Avenue and 49th Street. 

Subway

525 Lexington Avenue Residence Hall is accessible via several nearby subway stations: 

  • From the 51st Street Station (6 train), walk approximately 2–3 minutes to the residence hall. 
  • From the Lexington Ave./53rd Street Station (E and M trains), walk approximately 5 minutes to the residence hall. 
  • From Grand Central–42nd Street Station (4, 5, 6, 7, and S trains), walk approximately 10 minutes to the residence hall. 

Dining and Meal Plans

525 Lexington has a large kitchen space with ovens, stovetops, sinks, and seating for students to eat their meals. In addition, each room is furnished with a mini-refrigerator/freezer and microwave oven.

There are many restaurants and grocery stores close to the residence hall and near the New York City campus. Get more information about dining on or near campus.

Our trained staff will assist you during every phase of your New York Tech residence life experience:

  • Resident Assistants (RAs) live within the building and assist students with questions and concerns.
  • Professional staff located in the building assist with the daily operation and management of the residence hall and manage the RA staff.

To safeguard your personal property, New York Tech has partnered with National Student Services, a provider of college student property insurance against fire and theft.
