  • Guides
    It’s like having your own research assistant! Consult these comprehensive resource lists of most useful materials, pre-selected, compiled, and organized by subject area, topic, even course name.

  • Ask a Librarian
    Use this online resource to find answers to common questions about how to use the library’s resources and locate materials, or ask one of your own.

  • Live Chat
    When you’re hard at work and have a question that needs an answer now, sign on and chat live with a librarian.

  • Make an Appointment
    In-depth research often requires resources and approaches it can be difficult to pinpoint on your own. Meet with a librarian subject specialist for guidance on your project or topic.

  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
    Current students, staff, and faculty may request to borrow an item that is not in our collection through Interlibrary Loan.  To avoid delays, always check Bearcat, the NYIT Library Catalog to see if we own the item prior to submitting ILL requests.

  • Renew a Book
    Use the barcode from your NYIT ID card and your Library PIN to renew materials online.

  • Course Reserves
    Find assigned and recommended library materials your instructors have reserved for the courses they teach.

  • Recommend a Purchase
    Faculty members and students may suggest titles they would like the library to purchase for use in a particular course.

  • Library Classes
    Librarians are available to provide in-class instruction on topics including search strategies, how to use citation software, how to avoid plagiarism and more. Use this form to request information literacy sessions, which will be tailored to your class.
