The article was co-authored by Nada Anid, Ph.D., vice president of strategic communications and external affairs.

School of Health Professions NursingPamela Treister, D.N.P., C.N.S., R.N., C.M.S.R.N., A.E-C., clinical assistant professor of nursing, made a video presentation titled "Uncompensated Care and the Financial Impact in the Emergency Department," at the 4th World Congress on Nursing and Healthcare (WCNH 2018), June 25-26, 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

School of ManagementPetra F.A. Dilling, Ph.D., associate professor of management was appointed to the Membership Committee of the Chartered Professional Accountants Association of British Columbia on June 28. 2018.
Melda Yildiz
College of Arts & Sciences Masters Instructional TechnologyMelda N. Yildiz, Ed.D., assistant professor and chair of the Department of Instructional Technology, co-presented a poster, "Research: Multilingual Multicultural Multimedia: Globally Connected Mobile Learning Projects," at ISTE 2018, June 24, in Chicago, Ill. Her co-presenters included NYIT MSIT graduate Juliet Boone, Fitsum Boone, and Daeon Lynch.

Legal General Counsel's OfficeJordan Thompson, associate general counsel, was installed as Treasurer of the Huntington Lawyers' Club on June 20, 2018. The club was founded in 1934 and is comprised of attorneys and judges living and/or working in the Township of Huntington, Long Island.

School of Architecture & Design ArchitectureDongsei Kim, M.Des., assistant professor of architecture, presented his paper, “The Politics of Space and its Shadows,” at the “New Instrumentalities” 2018 Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) & El Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid (COAM) International Conference, June 15, 2018 in Madrid, Spain. The paper will also be published in the conference proceedings.
David Nadler
School of Engineering & Computing Sciences Environmental Technology & SustainabilityDavid Nadler, Ph.D., assistant professor and chair of the Department of Environmental Technology and Sustainability, joined the New York Water Environment Association's (NYWEA) Environmental Science Committee on June 14, 2018. The committee promotes environmental science programs and activities at NYWEA Annual and Spring technical conferences; provides a mechanism for interaction between scientists and engineers through the coordination of specific environmental science activities, (e.g. tours, workshops, etc.); and works with regional chapters to provide programs that serve the environmental science sector.

School of Engineering & Computing Sciences Environmental Technology & SustainabilityDavid Nadler, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Environmental Technology and Sustainability, received his Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential from the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure on June 13, 2018. Envision is a groundbreaking resource for professionals involved in planning, designing, building, and maintaining civil infrastructure. As a rating system for sustainable infrastructure, Envision is supported by a wide array of respected organizations involved in infrastructure design, construction, and operation.
