You’ll gain a foundation in the medical, behavioral, and social sciences; clinical medicine; patient assessment; and health policy and professional practice issues.
Your capstone project entails conducting original research and collaborating across disciplinary lines through Interprofessional Educational Collaborative (IPEC) learning and activities with other New York Tech students.

The Physician Assistant Studies, M.S. has specific admissions requirements, including a bachelor’s degree (preferably in a science- or health-related field); several minimum academic standards; and technical standards.
The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistants (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the New York Institute of Technology Physician Assistant Program. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

No form of gender-based misconduct will be tolerated at New York Institute of Technology. Please refer to the university’s Gender-Based Misconduct and Title IX Policy for definitions and reporting procedures, as well as contact information for Title IX coordinators.
Non-Discrimination
In addition to gender-based misconduct, New York Tech prohibits all forms of unlawful discrimination or harassment pursuant to its Non-Discrimination and Discriminatory Harassment Policy. Any incidents of discrimination or harassment should be brought to the immediate attention of the program director/chair.

All PA program policies apply to all students, the principal and adjunct faculty, the program director, and the medical director, regardless of location. The policies listed are subject to change.
Program Recognition that all Policies Must Be Defined, Published, Readily Available, and Consistently Applied (A3.02*)
The program must define, publish, make readily available, and consistently apply its policies and practices to all students.
Prospective and Enrolled Students Must Not be Required to Provide or Solicit Clinical Sites or Preceptors Policy (A3.03*)
The PA Program does not require present or future students to provide or solicit clinical sites or preceptors; the program has secured all supervised clinical experience practice sites and preceptors for all matriculated students. At no time do students need to assist in finding their own SCPE preceptors or sites.
PA Students Must Not be Required to Work for the PA Program or Clinical Site Policy (A3.04, A3.05*)
Students are not required to work for the program in any capacity.
PA Students Must be Clearly Identified in the Clinical Setting to Distinguish Them from Other Health Profession Students and Practitioners Policy (A3.06*)
During the clinical year, if a student chooses to partake in an international elective, the program will require the student to follow current CDC recommendations for international travel and the additional vaccinations therein.

Principal Faculty, the Program Director, and the Medical Director are Precluded from Participating as Health Care Providers for Students in the PA Program, Except in an Emergency Situation Policy (A3.09*)
To maintain satisfactory academic standing as a PA student, a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 must be maintained. The college identifies students who fall below a 3.0 GPA and places them on academic probation until the GPA reaches 3.0 or above. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required to progress to the clinical phase and for graduation.
To graduate, students must fulfill the following requirements:
A cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0
Successful completion of all didactic courses
Successful completion of all clinical clerkships
Completion and approval of master’s project
Successful completion of Summative Evaluation

Progress in and Completion of the PA Program Requirements and Deadlines Policy (A3.15 b*)
It is expected that all students will complete the program within 26 months. In cases where a student takes a leave of absence or is approved to decelerate and join a subsequent cohort, the student must complete the entire curriculum within 12 months of their original graduation date.
