Train to treat the whole patient—not just their symptoms—or gain foundational knowledge in biomedical science in preparation for medical school. You’ll enhance your expertise with our concurrent population health certificate program and through other concurrent or online programs.
We enhance your training through an extensive network of over 150 regional medical facilities throughout Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Missouri. Our students have access to a diverse range of clinical experiences, including helping to deliver care directly to patients at rural providers in response to ongoing physician shortages.

Even at a young age, I knew that there were real needs in my community, and I was aware of the disparities. My family and neighbors were suffering from a lot of preventable diseases, and I felt the best way I could help people in a meaningful way was to become a doctor.
Students actively engage in research alongside faculty. Through studies funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Heart Association, and other organizations, NYITCOM-Arkansas professors explore areas like heart failure, chronic pain, and more.
Our students don’t wait until graduation to make an impact. Assist in delivering primary care, preventative screenings, and education through our Delta Care-a-van mobile clinic. Or, help lawmakers craft future legislation that could improve access to care and patient outcomes.
Smaller classes encourage collaboration and one-on-one mentorship between students and professors. The program’s location on the flagship campus of the Arkansas State University system also gives you access to on-campus housing, multiple dining choices, a fitness center, study spaces, Division 1 sporting events, and the Arkansas Biosciences Institute.
