Title VI at New York Tech

What is Title VI?

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 provides: “No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”

Understanding Title VI at New York Tech

Title VI prohibits discrimination against any person based on race, color, or national origin in any program or activity at New York Institute of Technology.

New York Tech will address discrimination that violates Title VI by offering supportive measures, providing information on the school’s policies and procedures, and ensuring avenues for resolution are available to the reporting party.

For more information, please see New York Tech’s Statement on Non-Discrimination and its Non-Discrimination and Discriminatory Harassment Policy. This policy includes information on reporting and on New York Tech’s applicable grievance processes for students and employees.
