The mission of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at New York Tech is to prepare you for successful employment or the pursuit of graduate studies and/or continued education in your field and to help you learn to function as a responsible member of society through engagement in community or professional organizations.
Our ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering prepares you to apply basic and advanced engineering knowledge and skills to the design and analysis of engineering systems, such as thermo-fluid systems, energy systems, dynamical control systems, nano/microsensors and devices, advanced materials, and advanced transportation systems. We also offer a concentration in aerospace engineering, focusing on aircraft and space vehicle design. Our M.S. in Mechanical Engineering incorporates cutting-edge research and up-to-date coursework. We also offer a B.S. in Engineering Management, which focuses on the foundations of financial management, project analysis, operations management, quality control, and other skills needed in today’s global marketplace.
“A mechanical engineering degree gives you the chance to understand and work in a variety of fields, whether aerospace, chemical, electrical, or biomedical projects,” says Associate Professor Tindaro Ioppolo, Ph.D. He sat down with The Box to talk about his research and his work with students.
