Adjunct Faculty Council
The School of Management is interested in supporting and engaging its adjunct faculty into the ongoing development of the school and the advancement of its students. In this spirit the school supports an Adjunct Faculty Council, whose mission is to strengthen faculty-student interaction and support student success. The Adjunct Faculty Council also provides advisory inputs that influence policy and curriculum to the academic dean, and also provide services to the students, such as academic assistance, career advisement, or support of the Career Building Platform (CBP). The council also supports the development and delivery of adult learner programs, continuing education programs, and the orientation and mentoring of new adjunct faculty members.
All adjunct faculty members are invited to the annual Adjunct Faculty Orientation to introduce and reinforce the school mission and related activities and supports that strengthen adjunct faculty contributions to the school and its students. The orientation also introduces adjunct faculty to the Goal Validation System (GVS) decision support tool that all faculty use to input scores, and which forms the technological backbone for the school’s assessment processes. The School of Management retains an associate dean for faculty affairs to champion faculty concerns, facilitate faculty success, and allocate graduate assistants to support their mission-based activities.
Membership into the School of Management Adjunct Advisory Council is open to all qualified adjunct faculty members, and membership of all adjunct faculty is welcomed. All interested adjunct faculty members may express their interest by contacting the academic dean for inclusion into Adjunct Faculty Council.
