Welcome to Fall 2025! Here are some updates and reminders as you embark on a fun and successful semester.
Upcoming Events
- Investing is for Everyone (November 3): Come to the Long Island campus from 1 – 2:45 p.m. for an engaging workshop on investing followed by a career panel featuring JPMorgan Chase leaders, who will provide insights on their personal and professional career journeys. There will also be networking, Q&A, and lunch.
- 2025 Fall Grizzly Games (November 5): Please join the Office of Student Life for bowling, bubble soccer, badminton, volleyball, and other activities.
- Celebrate National First-Gen College Celebration Day (November 5): Celebrate National First-Gen College Celebration Day! Enjoy a celebratory lunch with other first-gen students, receive information about first-gen support and resources, and receive first-gen giveaways.
- Annual NYC Veterans Day Parade (November 11): Join the Student Veteran Organization to march in the parade, representing and honoring our New York Tech veteran community. Bring an unopened new toy to support Toys for Tots.
- Become a FinOps Certified Practitioner (November 14): This free FinOps Certified Practitioner course offers certification that allows individuals in a large variety of cloud, finance, and technology roles to validate their FinOps knowledge and enhance their professional credibility.

Academic Deadlines, Support & Financial Aid
No classes are scheduled on Wednesday, November 5 (except for NYITCOM). Labs are held at the discretion of individual faculty members. Please check with your lab instructor for more information
There is still time to add Cycle B 2025 classes that start on October 27. Check out the course offerings (filter by session Cycle B). Use Schedule Planner to find a Cycle B class that fits into your current schedule.
- Withdrawal Period: The withdrawal period for Cycle A classes ended on October 21. The withdrawal period for Fall semester classes ends on December 11.
Withdrawing from a class will result in a grade of W on your transcript. A withdrawal may affect your financial aid eligibility, immigration status (if applicable), and progress toward graduation. In some cases, your overall education cost may increase due to extended enrollment or loss of aid.
It is strongly recommended that you consult the following offices before making any withdrawal decisions:
Prepare for registration in three important steps:
- Step 1: Academic advisement is underway! Connect with your academic advisor to review your progress and choose spring courses.
- Step 2: Clear any holds and complete your To Do items in Student Service HUB.
- Step 3: Use Schedule Planner to build your preferred class schedule. Be sure to check the campus, session, and instruction mode for each class.
Registration opens Thursday, November 6, at 7 a.m. Visit the Student Service HUB to view your assigned registration date.
We have recently published updated information regarding SEVIS check-in, international travel, and U.S. re-entry, Optical Practical Training (OPT), and I-20 extensions. We encourage you to keep your documents up to date and to register for our upcoming OPT and student employment workshops. We will continue to keep you apprised of any changes in policies and processes
Gain an academic edge by taking advantage of free academic coursework tutoring or general skill-building support (time management, study skills, and test taking). In-person and online tutoring appointments are available!
- Review any Holds and To Do list items in the Student Service HUB to avoid delays in processing of aid or impacts on enrollment.
- Enroll in the Spring Tuition Payment Plan. Find out more.
- Tuition for spring is due on January 1.
- Submit a Seasonal Loan Request Form: If you received financial aid this past summer, submit a seasonal loan Request form to the Financial Aid office for the upcoming spring 2026 and summer 2026 semesters.
- The 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available at studentaid.gov. File early to maximize your aid eligibility. You will need to create an FSA ID and use our federal school code 002782.
- File the 2025-2026 FAFSA online at studentaid.gov to receive financial aid, including any scholarship offers you received. The 2025-2026 FAFSA is required for spring 2026.
- Apply for the NYS Tuition Assistance Program. Undergraduate students who are New York State residents are encouraged to apply for the NYS Tuition Assistance Program at hesc.ny.gov. You will need to create a user ID and PIN. Our TAP school code is 2120.
Apply for the Debra A. Vogel Advancement Scholarship for Entrepreneurship! The Debra A. Vogel Student Advancement Scholarship is designed to inspire New York Tech students to embrace their entrepreneurial spirit and become engaged in the global business community as they continue their studies. The scholarship provides a foundation of financial assistance as an incentive to encourage students to become future international industry leaders through their innovation, ideas, and passion.

The Student Research Opportunity Center (SROC) engages undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly research, providing opportunities to work with faculty on research and grant projects.
Gain knowledge and experience to support your career goals, while benefiting from experiential learning opportunities, broadening your career aspirations, and impacting research that benefits our community, society, and the world. Student workers may be compensated for their work on these projects.

It is important to review and update your contact information, so we can quickly inform you of campus emergencies, closings, and other important updates. Campus Safety Services Quick Links may also be a helpful resource for your campus experience.
In addition to quiet study areas available in the campus libraries, students may reserve a study room in Anna Rubin Hall or Field House at the Long Island campus.
