Student Update

Updated September 25, 2025

Welcome to Fall 2025! Here are some updates and reminders as you embark on a fun and successful semester.

Upcoming Events

  • LI and NYC AutumnFests (October 14 in NYC and October 16 on LI): Join the Office of Student Life as part of President Balentine’s Inauguration festivities at our annual AutumnFest events. Come enjoy DIYs, novelties, fall food and drink, and more!
  • Career Success and Experiential Education Workshops and Events (October 7): Volunteering, career fair follow-up, alumni mentorship, and top jobs and internships.

Academic Deadlines, Support & Financial Aid

There is still time to add Cycle B 2025 classes that start on October 27. Check out the course offerings (filter by session Cycle B). Use Schedule Planner to find a Cycle B class that fits into your current schedule.

  • Withdrawal Period:
    • The withdrawal period for Cycle A classes ends on October 21. The withdrawal period for Fall semester classes ends on December 11.
Withdrawing from a class will result in a grade of W on your transcript. A withdrawal may affect your financial aid eligibility, immigration status (if applicable), and progress toward graduation. In some cases, your overall education cost may increase due to extended enrollment or loss of aid.

It is strongly recommended that you consult the following offices before making any withdrawal decisions: – Your Academic Advisor – Office of the Bursar – Office of Financial Aid – Office of International Education (if applicable).

If you plan to graduate in December 2025, you must apply for graduation by Friday, September 26, through the Student Service HUB.

We have recently published updated information regarding SEVIS check-in, international travel and U.S. re-entry, Optical Practical Training (OPT), and I-20 extensions. We encourage you to keep your documents up to date and to register for our upcoming  OPT and student employment workshops. We will continue to keep you apprised of any changes in policies and processes

Not sure if you’re on the right track? That’s what your Academic Advisor is for! They can help choose classes, figure out your major, and map out your next moves. Visit your Engage Portal to connect or book an appointment. Academic advisement for spring 2026 kicks off on October 6! More details coming soon.

Gain an academic edge by taking advantage of free academic coursework tutoring or general skill-building support. In-person and online tutoring appointments are available! Fall 2025 tutoring appointments are now available.
