University Governance of IT

University governance for IT engages diverse stakeholders to establish and communicate priorities for technology and system investments, guide service level management, and approve policies that support and are aligned with institutional goals and priorities.

The governance structure consists of an overarching Facilities, Leases, IT, and Equipment (FLITE) Council and advisory committees, including those governed by New York Tech’s Academic Senate. These committees have varying responsibilities and are charged with identifying, prioritizing, and recommending tactical and strategic IT-related initiatives to propel the University forward deliberately and thoughtfully.

They also serve as communication conduits to the New York Tech community to promote transparency, accountability, and effective dialogue about technology and its adoption at New York Tech.
