Transcripts and Grades

Transcripts

You can view your unofficial transcript in the Student Service HUB. You can order your official transcript online through the National Student Clearinghouse at getmytranscript.com. The transcript fee is $15 plus any applicable fees.

Transcript Types

  • “All/Undergraduate and Graduate”: Includes undergraduate and graduate academic work completed at New York Tech or NYITCOM.
    • Note: Students in the School of Health Professions (e.g., Clinical Nutrition, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, etc.) must select this transcript type.
  • “Medical – College of Osteopathic Medicine”: Includes academic work completed toward the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree at NYITCOM.

Need both transcript types? You must place two separate orders.

Transcript Delivery Options

  • Official Paper Transcripts: Signed and sealed in an envelope, mailed directly to the recipient you specify.
  • Official Electronic Transcripts (PDF): Digitally signed, secured with a watermark seal and Adobe blue ribbon certification, and emailed directly to the recipient.

Important Reminders

  • A hold on your student record may delay transcript processing. Please check for holds in the Student Service HUB before placing your order.
  • Before choosing the options “After Degree is Awarded” or “After Grades are Posted”, check your unofficial transcript in the Student Service HUB to confirm that your degree has been conferred or grades are posted.
  • Already confirmed? You don’t need to select either of these options – just place your transcript order directly.
  • Electronic transcripts are typically delivered within 24 hours of order placement. If you select an option above, allow extra time for manual processing.
  • Processing may be delayed if the college is closed for weekends, holidays, or inclement weather. For current operating hours, visit nyit.edu.

If you need assistance accessing the National Student Clearinghouse or ordering and paying for your transcript, contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@nyit.edu or 516.686.7580.

Grades

Viewing Grades

You can view your grades in the Student Service HUB. If you are missing a grade for a course, contact your instructor or the academic department.

The New York Institute of Technology Academic Catalog provides information on official grades and their equivalent quality points.

Grades Affecting Financial Aid Eligibility

To remain eligible for financial aid, students are required to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (view Undergraduate policy/Graduate policy) toward their degree. There are several grades other than A, B, C, D, or F that may also affect your financial aid eligibility. Contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information.

Disputing Grades

If you believe that you have received an incorrect grade, notify your instructor that you have a dispute with the grade you received and that you would like to request a change of grade.

  • If the instructor agrees that the grade should be changed – he or she will complete a change of grade form and send it along with the appropriate documentation to the chair of the department to sign. Once the form has been signed by the instructor and department chair, it will be forwarded to the Office of the Registrar, and the grade change will be processed.
  • If the instructor does not agree the grade should be changed – you may initiate a grade appeal. To begin this process in a timely manner, you must notify the instructor in writing no later than the third week of the succeeding semester that you wish to challenge the grade. For assistance with the grade appeal procedure, please contact the Office of the Registrar on your campus.
