Jordan Thompson
Legal Legal General Counsel's OfficeJordan Thompson, deputy general counsel, was elected President of the Huntington Lawyers' Club (HLC) on September 1, 2020. The Huntington Lawyer’s Club was founded in 1934 and is comprised of attorneys and judges living and/or working in the Township of Huntington. The purpose of HLC is to bring together a community of lawyers to further socialization, legal education, and networking.

College of Arts & Sciences College of Arts & Sciences Physics Yusui Chen, Ph.D., assistant professor of physics, had his research paper, “Quantumness protection for open systems in a double-layer environment,” published in the Journal of Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy on May 1, 2020. College of Osteopathic Medicine College of Osteopathic Medicine Research-JonesboroRajendram Rajnarayanan, M.SC., Ph.D., assistant dean of research and associate professor of biomedical sciences at NYITCOM-Arkansas, was interviewed by Wendi Li for an article, “How one Society Advocate created a summer research program” for the Society for Science & and the Public, published on August 26, 2020. The article described how Rajnarayanan in his role as a Society Advocate, created a paid summer internship program as a way to allow high school students to support their families while giving them an opportunity to gain laboratory exposure. \n\n

College of Arts & Sciences College of Arts & Sciences Behavioral SciencesSusana Case, Ph.D., professor of behavioral sciences, won a Pinnacle Book Award for Best Poetry Book, Summer 2020, on August 20, 2020, for Dead Shark on the N Train, published by Broadstone Books.
Sophia Domokos
College of Arts & Sciences College of Arts & Sciences PhysicsSophia Domokos, Ph.D., assistant professor of physics, received a National Science Foundation Award for her proposal, "RUI: Solitons in Holography," on August 18, 2020, for research in an area of string theory called holographic duality. The three-year grant, which runs from September 1, 2020, through August 31, 2023, has a total intended award amount of $120,000.
