Amerigo Rossi

Interdisciplinary Health Sciences

Amerigo Rossi, Ed.D., associate professor of interdisciplinary health sciences, was awarded a $3000 grant for Advancing & Sustaining Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the ACSM Greater New York regional chapter, on January 25, 2023. This grant will support the development of a strategic plan to incorporate DEI principles into all of our business practices.

Nayoung Kim, Ph.D., assistant professor of behavioral science, published her article, "Integrative Developmental Model for Narrative Supervision," published in the on January 25, 2023. The article was originally published online on May 21, 2021.

School of Health Professions

Shinu Kuriakose, DHSc, PA-C, associate professor of physician assistant studies, published an article, "Case Study; Ethics and Mental Illness in Pregnancy," in Clinical Advisor on January 23, 2023.

Beth Elenko

SHP, Occupational Therapy

Beth Elenko, Ph.D., associate professor of occupational therapy, was awarded a grant for Building the NYS Early Intervention Workforce: IHE’s Requirements of Interdisciplinary Personnel Development and Preparation. The grant, awarded on January 20, 2023, and funded by the New York Early Childhood Professional Development Institute and the Heising-Simons Foundation, will support research on enhancing the quality of the educational preparation of current and future early interventionists and on addressing New York State’s shortage of early interventionists.

Beth Elenko

School of Health Professions/ Occupational Therapy

Beth Elenko, Ph.D., associate professor of occupational therapy, was featured in an article, "State of the Journal: Introducing the Assistant Editors," in The Open Journal of Occupational Therapy (OJT), published on January 15, 2023. Elenko is one of the journal's assistant editors.

Jonathan Goldman

CAS/Hum

Jonathan Goldman, Ph.D., professor of English, Department of Humanities, gave a presentation, "Modernism and the Super-Individual," as part of Rabindra Bharati University's Modernism 1922 | 2022: Hundred Years and Beyond Special Lecture Series. Goldman gave his presentation, the last in the series, on January 11, 2023.

Peter Harris

School of Management/ Law, Economics, Accounting, Finance/Acocunting

Peter Harris, M.B.A., professor of accounting & finance and marketing & management studies, posted a video "When does a construction company recognize revenue for financial statement purposes" on the Certified Financial Management Association (CMFA) YouTube channel on January 10, 2023. Harris discusses financial reporting issues affected by the recently issued Standard ASC 606. The CMFA, which is the largest not-for-profit entity of its type, has designated as an expert in such matters.

Jonathan Goldman

Jonathan Goldman, Ph.D., professor of English, Department of Humanities, gave a talk, "The Modernist Super-Individual: Personality, Celebrity, Brand-Names," for Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta, on January 5, 2023. The talk focused on changes to the idea of personhood during the late 18th/early 19th centuries, including discussions of Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Arthur Conan Doyle, Eva Tanguay, Babe Ruth, Edith Wharton, James Joyce, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, Virginia Woolf, Harry Houdini, and Superman.

Amanda Golden, Ph.D., associate professor of English, Department of Humanities, published the chapter, “Lyric ‘Unpunctuation’: W. S. Merwin’s Early New Yorker Correspondence,” in the collection Reading W. S. Merwin in a New Century: American and European Perspectives, edited by Cheri Colby Langdell and published by Palgrave Macmillan on January 2, 2023.
