Colleen P. Kirk, D.P.S., professor of marketing, published a paper, "Self-Invitation Hesitation: How and Why People Fail to Ask to Join the Plans of Others," in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, on March 18, 2025. The academic article featured Kirk's research on consumers' misplaced reluctance to invite themselves to join the plans of others.

Evan Shieh, M.AUD., assistant professor of architecture, gave a public book talk lecture hosted by the Harvard Alumni Architectural & Urban Society (HAAUS) at the Head Hi Bookstore in Brooklyn on March 8, 2025.

Nicole Calma-Roddin

College of Arts and Sciences

Nicole Calma-Roddin, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology and counseling, co-presented a paper entitled "Learning outcomes and empathy when using a narrative game vs. textbook-style presentation" at the annual meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association in New York City on March 7, 2025.

Alessandro Melis

School of Architecture and Design

Alessandro Melis, Ph.D., IDC Foundation endowed chair and professor in the School of Architecture and Design, \nwas a keynote speaker at an event organized by Confprofessioni Piemonte, the National Organization of Professional Workers, which took place on March 7, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Metropolitan City of Turin. The event focused on the future of the liberal professions, addressing key topics such as civil and criminal liability, new forms of professional aggregation, and the impact of artificial intelligence. With his expertise in innovation and sustainability, Melis provided a strategic vision on the challenges and opportunities in the sector, fostering dialogue among institutions, experts, and professionals.

Cameka Hazel

College of Arts and Sciences

Cameka Hazel, Ed.D., assistant professor of psychology and counseling in the College of Arts and Sciences, has published a paper, "Highly Skilled Caribbean Immigrants Career-Related Transition Issues: Mental Health Implication," in the International Journal for the Advancement of Counselling, a peer-reviewed academic publication. The research article was published on March 5, 2025.

Claude Gagna

College of Arts and Sciences

Claude E. Gagna, Ph.D., professor of biological and chemical sciences, was honored with the 2025 Long Island Business News Health Care Heroes Award, in the individual category of Health Care Innovation, on February 28, 2025. The award recognizes Gagna's biomedical research involving the structure and function of exotic DNAs, novel DNA-based methods towards improving cancer research, and teaching undergraduate and medical students.

Evan Shieh

School of Architecture and Design

Evan Shieh, M.AUD., assistant professor of architecture, appeared as an invited guest on MoPo, the Most Podern podcast, exploring the forces that shape our cities, buildings, and public spaces. In the episode "Autonomous Vehicles and the Future of Cities," released on February 25, 2025, Shieh discussed the ways in which driverless vehicles will transform our urban landscape.

Dongsei Kim, M.Des., associate professor of architecture, participate in a Design Research Forum panel, "Resolutions or Revolutions?" with Adriana Pablos Llona (University of South Florida) at Harvard Graduate School of Design on February 24, 2025.

Jeannette Sordi

School of Architecture and Design

Jeannette Sordi, Ph.D., visiting associate professor at the School of Architecture and Design, gave a keynote speech in Montevideo, Uruguay, on February 20, 2025, at the Madera: Innovation for Social Architecture international competition. The event, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Development, celebrated the achievement of the Road Map to enhance the use of timber for social architecture in Uruguay, an initiative on which Sordi has been collaborating for the past three years.
