Paula Ryo is a family physician who joined the full-time clinical teaching faculty of the Department of Family Medicine at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) in June of 2014. She is the Director of the Institute for Clinical Competence (ICC)—the NYITCOM simulation center—where she coordinates the clinical aspects of simulated learning that the osteopathic medical students and students from the School of Health Professions engage in. In addition, she also cares for patients in the Academic Health Center of the Long Island campus. Prior to joining NYITCOM, she was the Associate Director of the Department of Medical Education at Long Beach Medical Center.
