Accelerated degree programs are an excellent choice for students wanting to attend graduate or medical school, or just take a faster approach to furthering their education. At New York Tech, we offer more than 30 options for students to get their advanced degree in less time. Our degree options span the fields of education, engineering, health professions, medicine, school counseling, and more.

Our Bachelor’s degree with Accelerated Master’s Options (4+1) program enables students to maximize their time, investment, and career opportunities. By completing both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in less time, students can save up to 36% on tuition and launch their careers sooner.

In our accelerated master’s options, students can start graduate-level coursework while finishing their bachelor’s degree or enroll in one of our combined degrees to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees in one seamless, integrated program.

Visit our Dual Degree Programs page to explore the right accelerated program options for your students.

Learning by doing can be one of the most effective educational tools, which is why New York Tech is pleased to announce the Ninth Annual Mini-Research Grant Award (9th Annual MRGA) . We encourage counselors to invite their high school student(s) to submit a research project proposal in STEM disciplines. Applications will be accepted until January 11, 2026. A preference may be given to student projects conceived and implemented with high school faculty mentors and for project proposals that have preliminary data. Proposals may also be submitted and applied to projects planned for the 2026 calendar year. The amount of the award is $300.

Visit the MRGA page to learn more about requirements, submission dates, and more.

The 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has officially launched, which means it’s time for students and their families to gather their 2024 tax documents and file the FAFSA today.

The FAFSA determines a student’s eligibility for financial aid, including grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans. Students should still be encouraged to file the FAFSA even if they think they may not qualify.

List New York Institute of Technology on the FAFSA using our school code 002782.

We know that completing the FAFSA is a crucial step for many prospective students financing their college education. To support them, direct students to the Federal Student Aid page to get detailed, step-by-step instructions for the entire application process.

Below are also some helpful guides (released on YouTube and X) from Federal Student Aid to help simplify the FAFSA filing process for students and their families:

Investing in a college education is one of life’s biggest decisions. That’s why New York Tech is proud to offer generous scholarships designed to help students finance their education. For first-year students, our scholarships have now increased up to $42,000 per year, showcasing our commitment to keeping education affordable. Explore our merit scholarships and empower your students to achieve their goals.

Scholarships are renewable each semester, as long as students meet the scholarship requirements. They are for tuition only, divided equally between the fall and spring semesters, and are determined by a variety of factors. They are not applicable to summer session attendance.

Explore our scholarships options to see how we can help support your students’ goals.

Regardless of whether students are just starting their research, visiting universities, or are ready to submit their applications, New York Tech provides a flexible and accessible admissions process. We review applications for both admissions and automatic scholarship decisions on a rolling basis, as long as space remains available in our incoming class. Students can apply and receive a decision at their convenience. In addition, we offer test-optional admission to our first-year applicants.

For students who are still uncertain about their plans for where to attend school and/or are interested in attending New York Tech, please encourage them to apply. Submitting an application will provide valuable information and insight into their options.

    Big Investments in Student Entrepreneurs

Some universities have an entrepreneurship degree; some have a hub for students; a few have a venture fund. At New York Tech, we are putting it all together. To help fuel entrepreneurship education, we’ve proudly launched the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Academy.

Starting on our Long Island campus, the academy brings together a new course and curriculum in the Startup Tech Central space, networking activities and events, and a $5 million venture fund, positioning New York Tech as a university that offers comprehensive support for entrepreneurship. We’re combining all the elements that make New York Tech unique, and linking it to what we have always stood for: making sure every student who graduates from New York Tech can get a job or start their own company.

Technology Partnership Helps Children With Disfluenciesith AI

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, a former NBA star who played for the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets and Dallas Mavericks, has had difficulties speaking for as long as he can remember. Fear of having to speak publicly overshadowed otherwise joyous moments for Kidd-Gilchrist, such as winning the NCAA men’s basketball championship with the University of Kentucky in 2012 and being selected as the second pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

In the summer of 2025, Kidd-Gilchrist and his startup, GreenLight Enterprises, Inc., kicked off a partnership with New York Institute of Technology’s Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC) to develop a prototype of a technology platform that he hopes will help millions of children with stuttering get help faster than he did. Between 5 and 10 percent of children stutter at some point, and although most outgrow stuttering, it persists into adulthood for approximately 2 percent.
