Jonathan Goldman, Ph.D., associate professor of English, launched a website, New York 1920: 100 Years Ago Today (When We Became Modern) on January 1, 2020. The website displays archival materials from the city 100 years ago and will be updated throughout 2020.

College of Osteopathic Medicine Clinical Sciences Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

Denise Burns, D.O., professor of osteopathic manipulative medicine, was named a Top Doctor in Family Practice by NY TopDocs in January 2020.

Jonathan Goldman, Ph.D., associate professor of English, appeared on National Public Radio'sTiny Desk” series, on December 31, 2019. Goldman played trumpet and led his Latin band, Spanglish Fly. He also wrote or co-wrote all three songs: "Bugalu pa' mi abuela," "Los niƱos en la frontera," and "Boogaloo Shoes."

Jonathan Goldman, Ph.D., associate professor of English, published an article “How New Yorkers Celebrated New Year's Eve 100 Years Ago,” in the Gothamist on December 31, 2019. The article described the looming effects of prohibition and the Red Scare over New Yorkers' New Year's Eve.

Anthony DiMatteo, Ph.D., professor of English, had his poem, "Next Door to Nowhere," published in The American Journal of Poetry on December 26, 2019.

Dongsei Kim, M.Des., assistant professor of architecture, had his essay “An outsider’s short reflection on the question of Architecture and the Humanities: Is there a relevant relationship today?” published in Architectural Critics Journal for the Winter issue on December 24, 2019.

College of Engineering & Computing Sciences Dean's Office

Babak D. Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, was interviewed by Analytics India Magazine on December 23, 2019 about his knowledge of the international technological scenario regarding IoT and 5G. Beheshti also spoke about his role as dean, the background necessary to become a data scientist, the role of MOOCs and STEM education, and the rise of IoT and 5G.

Gregory Loeven

Capital Planning & Facilities Management

Greg Loeven, project manager of facilities management, Rich Lampeter, associate director of facilities management, and Bill Marchand, senior director of facilities management, had their video and case study, "New York Tech Utilized Stormwater Management System to Solve Flooding Issues," published on the Storm Water Solutions website on December 19, 2019. The video and case study detail their efforts to design and install a stormwater management system to help alleviate the flooding conditions experienced in the basement of the Serota Academic Center and over a portion of West Road on New York Tech's Long Island campus.
