Beth Elenko
SHP/Occupational TherapyBeth Elenko, Ph.D., associate professor of occupational therapy, published an article titled, "Answering the Call: A Pediatric Mentoring Program," on May 1, 2025, in Children and Youth SIS Practice Connections, a publication of the American Occupational Therapy Association. The article focused on the importance of mentoring in pediatric and the CYSIS programs.
Ziqian (Cecilia) Dong
CoECS/Electrical and Computer EngineeringZiqian (Cecilia) Dong, Ph.D., professor of electrical and computer engineering, was named a fellow in the 2025–2026 Executive Leadership in Academic Technology, Engineering and Science (ELATES) program at Drexel University on April 28, 2025. ELATES is a prestigious national leadership development program aimed at advancing senior women faculty in STEM into institutional leadership roles. Dong joins a diverse cohort of leaders from across the country, representing a broad range of academic and research excellence in the STEM fields. In addition to her selection, Dong has been awarded a KEEN Scholarship that will cover the full tuition cost of the program.

Amanda Golden
College of Arts & Sciences / HumanitiesAmanda Golden, Ph.D., associate professor of English in the Department of Humanities, moderated a conversation. “The Greatness of Sylvia Plath,” at a Library of America event, with panelists Sarah Ruden, Heather Clark, and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Diane Seuss. The event was held on April 17, 2025.
Colleen Kirk
School of ManagementColleen P. Kirk, D.P.S., professor of marketing, has published a chapter titled "The World Is My Oyster: Consumers' Psychological Ownership in a Spatial Computing Era" in a The Routledge Handbook of Identity and Consumption, published by the Routledge imprint of the Taylor & Francis Group on April 14, 2025. Coauthored with Laura Rifkin, the chapter investigates how spatial computing technologies, such as Apple's Vision Pro, promote psychological ownership by enabling consumers to feel greater control and personal connection to virtual environments.

School of Architecture & DesignEvan Shieh, M.AUD., assistant professor of architecture, gave a public book talk lecture hosted by Open Plans, an organization dedicated to transforming New York City streets through policy and advocacy. The lecture was held at Cookfox Architects on April 9, 2025.

LibrariesMillie Gonzalez has been elected to the Association of College and Research Libraries Board of Directors as councilor to serve a three-year term. The election results were announced on April 7, 2025.

College of Osteopathic MedicineBernadette Riley, D.O., associate professor of family medicine and director of the New York Tech Ehlers Danlos Center, was elected assistant secretary of the Medical Society of the State of New York on April 7, 2025. The Medical Society of the State of New York is the state’s primary professional organization for physicians.

Cameka Hazel, Ed.D., assistant professor of psychology and counseling in the College of Arts and Sciences, led and offered the welcoming address at the ACA-NY Annual Conference, The Use of AI in Counseling, on April 5, 2025, at Molloy University in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
Alessandro Melis
Architecture and DesignAlessandro Melis, Ph.D., IDC Foundation endowed chair and professor in the School of Architecture and Design, served as co-curator and co-director of Metamorphosis, the National Italian Festival of Architecture, which opened on April 3, 2025, with events held in several Italian and global locations. Maria Perbellini, Ph.D., dean of the School of Architecture and Design, was a member of the festival's steering committee.
