CoECS is committed to addressing the myriad issues associated with the expansion of urban cities. According to the United Nations, approximately 55 percent of the world’s population live in urban areas or cities; a figure expected to rise to 68 percent over the coming decades. This growth will require the successful management of biodiversity and ecosystem services to ensure a resilient and sustainable future.
