What You’ll Learn

The Digital Art & Design, M.F.A. – Graphic Design concentration is one of the most competitive and highly-regarded programs in the field, offering you the opportunity to develop strong conceptual, aesthetic, and innovative visual projects.

You’ll work in our advanced visualization facility using the latest industry-standard software and hardware, including 3-D printing/rapid prototyping, laser cutters, and immersive environments such as Oculus Rift. You’ll learn from accomplished, full-time faculty who are successful visual artists and creative multimedia designers with experience ranging from fine and digital arts to emerging technology such as virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.

In his role as a junior designer at UVPHACTORY, an award-winning motion design and visual effects company in New York City, Theerawat has worked on projects from the American Pavilion at the 2015 World Expo in Milan, Italy, to animations at festivals around the world.

How You’ll Succeed

Upon graduation, you will be prepared to be a leader in the design industry, furnished with an advanced set of skills and a robust portfolio of graphic design projects that incorporate concept, design development, communication, and interactivity. If you’re interested in a career in academia, you’ll be able to pursue a college-level teaching position at the assistant professor rank due to the classification of the M.F.A. as a terminal degree.

International F-1 students who successfully complete this degree are eligible for an additional 24-month STEM OPT extension to work in the U.S. in an area directly related to their area of study immediately upon completing the customary 12-month post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT).
