The Chemistry, B.S. – Pharmaceutical Sciences Concentration offers unmatched learning opportunities with our faculty scientists, providing you with a pathway to high-demand jobs such as research scientists, medicinal chemists, and laboratory technicians in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and government settings.

The degree includes a core curriculum in humanities and research principles and practices, general chemistry, organic chemistry, quantitative and instrumental analysis, physical chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and mathematics. This concentration dives into specialized coursework in pharmaceutical chemistry, drug discovery, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.

You'll work in our modern research labs, contributing to research under the mentorship of our highly-skilled faculty in areas such as synthetic and medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.

How You’ll Succeed

Upon graduation, you'll have fulfilled all the requirements for entrance to medical school, or to pursue graduate studies in pharmaceutical sciences and engineering, biotechnology, and other areas.

International F-1 students who successfully complete this degree are eligible for an additional 24-month STEM OPT extension to work in the U.S. in an area directly related to their area of study immediately upon completing the customary 12-month post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT).
