Neelam Lahankar received her doctorate in biochemistry from Seton Hall University. She loves to teach, and her main teaching interests are in organic chemistry. Before coming to New York Tech, she worked as an adjunct professor at CUNY New York City College of Technology, New Jersey City University, and Bergen Community College. After that, she taught at the University of Scranton as a post-doctoral faculty specialist and at Fairfield University as a visiting assistant professor.
