Lauren Rigney received a B.A. in Psychology from Princeton University, M.S. in Exercise and Sports Studies from Smith College, and M.S. in Professional Counseling from Monmouth University. At New York Tech, in addition to teaching Foundations of Scientific Process, she is involved in service learning projects with her students.

Rigney also has a background in exercise science and psychology and has completed research in motivation and reactions to failure. She currently runs a mental health private practice in midtown Manhattan. Additional interests include peak performance training, integrative counseling, stress management, and mindfulness training.
