Jenna Razeq, PA-C, joined New York Institute of Technology’s Department of Physician Assistant Studies in 2025, bringing experience in critical care medicine, surgery, clinical education, and scholarship. She currently practices as a physician assistant in the intensive care unit at Mount Sinai South Nassau, where she manages critically ill patients with complex medical conditions. Prior to transitioning to critical care medicine, she practiced in surgery. Her continued involvement in bedside medicine allows her to incorporate current clinical practice, high-acuity decision-making, and real-world patient care into her teaching.

Razeq earned her B.S. and M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies through the direct-entry Physician Assistant Studies program at Hofstra University, graduating summa cum laude in 2016. During her undergraduate education, she was a member of the Honors College, completed minors in biology and Spanish, and studied abroad for a semester at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Her international academic experience and study of the Spanish language contributed to her interest in communication, culture, and the delivery of patient-centered care across diverse populations.

At New York Tech, Razeq teaches across several areas of the physician assistant curriculum, with particular interests in clinical medicine, critical care, surgery and peri-operative medicine, and clinical skills education. She is especially interested in hands-on and simulation-based learning and has worked to develop clinical skills experiences that emphasize procedural competency, clinical reasoning, rapid patient assessment, and management of acutely deteriorating patients. She is also involved in student mentorship and many avenues of service within the School of Health Professions. She has held a leadership role as co-chair of the School of Health Professions Events and Social Committee, helping organize school-wide programming and community-building initiatives. Her service has included planning and coordinating events such as Wears Pink Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving programming, Fitness Bingo, and faculty and staff recognition events.

Her involvement at New York Tech extends beyond the PA program. Razeq has contributed to university athletics initiatives, including participation in an athletics task force focused on intramural sports, club sports, sprint football, and association partnerships. As part of this work, she assisted in the development of a university-wide student survey assessing interest in expanded athletic and recreational opportunities. She has also contributed to student engagement, wellness programming, community-building efforts, and social media initiatives designed to strengthen communication and visibility within the PA program.

Razeq’s scholarly interests center on critical care medicine, unusual and complex clinical presentations, and translating challenging patient cases into educational opportunities for healthcare professionals. Her scholarly work and publications have addressed topics including hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome, metformin-associated lactic acidosis (MALA), and other high-acuity conditions. Through her clinical scholarship, she aims to improve recognition of uncommon but life-threatening diseases and highlight the role of physician assistants in the diagnosis and management of critically ill patients.

Outside of medicine and academia, Razeq is an avid athlete who competes in CrossFit, volleyball, and Strongman. She brings the same emphasis on preparation, discipline, teamwork, and continual improvement that she values in athletics to her approach to clinical practice and physician assistant education.
