Wednesday, March 18: NYC Campus Reopens / 1855 Broadway Remains Closed

Due to infrastructure work, 1855 Broadway will remain closed on Wednesday, March 18. Employees at 1855 Broadway should continue to work remotely. All other buildings on the New York City campus will be open with full services. We will update information as soon as it becomes available.

Albert Tablante

Albert Tablante spent the first 15 years of his professional life as a tennis coach and tennis camp director. Inspired by a passion for research and lifelong learning, he earned a master’s in Library Science from Queens College of CUNY. His first library position was teaching information literacy at ASA College in Manhattan and Brooklyn. In seven years at this position, he helped develop the syllabus, textbook, libguides, and online learning modules for the course.

Tablante left academic libraries to spend four years in public librarianship. As a librarian in Brooklyn Public Library and Freeport Memorial Library, he won grants and pioneered creative programming in technology and humanities.

Tablante’s emerging technology interests include 3-D printing, virtual reality, and audio recording. He is the library liaison with NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences.
