Celebrating meaningful connections between students and faculty at New York Tech.
About the Program
Faculty don’t always have a chance to learn about the positive impact they have on the students they teach. Thank a Professor provides an opportunity for students to recognize faculty members who have made a positive impact on their learning and academic experience.
How It Works
- Students complete a short online form to share a message of appreciation for a faculty member who made a difference. They can choose to remain anonymous or include their name.
- Each message is reviewed and then printed on a certificate, which is sent to the faculty member along with a formal letter of recognition.
- Department chairs also receive a copy to highlight the faculty member’s contribution.
- With permission, anonymous messages may be shared to inspire others and celebrate the value of teaching at New York Tech.
Why It Matters
Expressions of gratitude can improve morale, build stronger relationships, and reaffirm the purpose of teaching and learning. Since the program began, we’ve received more than 1,300 student messages!
