Mid-Semester Feedback
Don’t wait until the end of the semester to ask your students about their course experiences!
Mid-semester feedback is a way for you to learn about what students experience in your course and implement teaching methods and strategies that better support student learning.
How It Works
- Register for Mid-Semester Feedback.
- The CFE team will set up the survey and email it directly to the students.
- You can add up to three custom questions to tailor the feedback to the course.
- Students will receive reminder emails if they don’t complete the survey.
- To boost response rates, consider setting aside a few minutes during class for students to complete the survey. (You can tell us the specific day and time for a reminder email to be sent)
Once the survey is closed, CFE staff will help you interpret the results and decide how to respond—whether that’s making changes to the course or simply having a conversation with students to clarify your approach.
Why Use Mid-Semester Feedback?
- It helps you understand what’s working and what could be improved.
- It allows for real-time adjustments, unlike end-of-semester evaluations.
- Students appreciate when their input leads to action, which can improve classroom dynamics and future evaluations.
