Faculty Development Day
Faculty Development Day is a semi-annual event sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs, allowing faculty to step away from their busy schedules, enhance their skills, and be students for the day. These events offer an opportunity to explore effective practices and provide faculty with concrete ideas they can incorporate into their teaching, research, and creative activities. It’s one way we continue to reinvest in our faculty’s success and provide resources to build community and enhance faculty life at New York Tech.

Fall 2025: Curiosity, Connection, and Creating Value: Learning that Lasts
Wednesday, November 5, 2025
Long Island Campus
We welcome A. L. Ranen McLanahan, Ph.D., program director and national speaker for the Kern Family Foundation, will give a keynote address focused on cultivating an “entrepreneurial mindset”—emphasizing curiosity, connecting concepts, and creating value. This approach fosters creativity, adaptability, and a growth mindset in our students. This will be followed in New York by additional breakout sessions led by Kern Family Foundation’s Team Crescendo and New York Tech faculty, who will further connect these ideas to our teaching practices, and a poster session highlighting innovative teaching practices, research projects, and initiatives that connect with this year’s theme.
