Important 2025 Commencement Deadlines

Generate your Stage Pass & Reserve Your Tickets by: April 23

International Students

If a member of your family requires a visa to attend commencement, please visit nyit.edu/international_student_support as soon as possible.

Before April 23

Starting in March, graduates will receive an email on how to access Tassel (formerly known as MarchingOrder, this is an online service that New York Tech is utilizing to simplify the commencement process), where you will be able to complete the following:

  • Validate your graduate information
  • Record your name pronunciation for crossing the stage (not required)
  • Reserve Tickets
  • Generate your stage pass

A Stage Pass is a unique QR code that will be scanned before you cross the stage so that your name can be announced properly. Upon completion of the Tassel form, you will be prompted to download your Stage Pass.

You will need your Stage Pass for your school/college ceremony. This will be held immediately following the main ceremony. Your Stage Pass can be scanned by printed copy or digitally as well as downloaded to your smart phone wallet.

To reserve your tickets, you must register to participate in commencement and generate your Stage Pass in Tassel.

Each eligible candidate for graduation will be able to order commencement tickets online. If you did not file with the Office of the Registrar, you cannot reserve tickets. Please see Filing for Graduation for further details.

Admission to commencement is by ticket only. A ticket grants access to the main tent commencement ceremony and individual school ceremonies. Due to limited seating, each student receives a maximum of four guest tickets. All guests, including children, require a ticket. The graduating student does not require a ticket. Additional tickets are not available due to the limited size of the tents.

Seating in the main tent is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once seating in the main tent is filled, ticketed guests will be directed to an overflow tent for viewing.

All graduates must reserve their guest tickets online before April 23.

If you are having trouble with reserving your tickets, please email commencement@nyit.edu.
