H. Pandya and D. Dongre have published a paper titled, “Assessing Forces Exerted on Horses Using Varying Riding Crops,” in the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science, on March 1, 2021.

Robert N. Amundsen, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of the Department of Energy Management, presented “Relocalization: Challenges and Strategies” at the NCSE Drawdown 2021 Conference: Research to Action - Science and Solutions for a Planet Under Pressure, held virtually January 5-9, 2021.

Batu K. Chalise, Ph.D., assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, and his postdoctoral research fellow, Sudarshan Guruacharya, have published an article entitled, “MAP Ratio Test Detector for Radar System,” in IEEE Transactions Signal Processing (impact factor 5.230, 2019), vol. 69, 573 - 588, 2021, on December 14, 2020. The research associated with this article was funded by Air Force Research Laboratory.

Wenjia Li, Ph.D., associate professor of computer science, published an article entitled “AIT: An AI-enabled Trust Management System for Vehicular Networks Using Blockchain Technology" in IEEE Internet of Things Journal (2020 SCI Impact Factor: 9.936) on December 14, 2020. This research work is co-authored with Chenyue Zhang, a New York Tech master's student he is currently advising, and two other colleagues from universities in China. In this research, the emerging blockchain technology and the deep learning algorithm are both applied to help evaluate the trust of vehicles in a more accurate and efficient manner.

Ahmadreza Baghaie, Ph.D., assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, had an article, “Time-resolved denoising using model order reduction, dynamic mode decomposition, and Kalman filter and smoother,” published in the Journal of Computational Dynamics on December 1, 2020. This research was done in collaboration with researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Medical College of Wisconsin on developing novel dynamic mode decomposition and Kalman filter-based techniques for the denoising of time-resolved data, with applications in computational fluid dynamics and medical blood flow imaging.

Babak D. Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, Gordon Schmidt, Ph.D., dean and professor of NYIT College of School of Health Profession, Dan Quigley, Ph.D., dean of NYIT College of Arts and Sciences, Stan Silverman, M.S., professor of instructional technologies, Tiffani Blake, M.S, M.ED., assistant provost for student engagement and development, Jerry Balentine, D.O., FACOEP, FACEP, executive vice president, and Amy Bravo, M.A., senior director of international and experiential education, recieved their third Voya Foundation grant on Novemeber 2, 2020 to “Diversify STEAM Leadership.” The institutional team will use the grant to run community based initiatives to engage and diversify the community.
