Computer Science, B.S. – Big Data Management & Analytics Concentration

Gain the technological and analytical skills you'll need to become a highly sought-after computer science professional trained to handle big data.

What You’ll Learn

The Computer Science, B.S. program with a concentration in Big Data Management & Analytics is a joint effort between IBM and New York Tech that will prepare you for a role understanding and managing one of the world’s most important assets—big data.

You’ll study a variety of topics such as data collection, data organization, information retrieval, and data mining. You’ll also complete lab exercises that use IBM InfoSphere BigInsights and IBM INfoSphere Streams.

You’ll have the opportunity to participate in our co-op program or work on funded research projects for the Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, among others alongside faculty at New York Tech’s Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC). Many students publish their work in recognized journals as part of the Undergraduate Research & Entrepreneurial Program (UREP).

See our Educational Objectives and Student Outcomes for more information.

For those interested in even greater career preparation, the Accelerated M.S. Options program offers you the opportunity to earn both a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Data Science in just five years.
