I chose NYITCOM because: I choice NYITCOM for a multitude of reasons but I really loved the campus and its location. Having grown up on Long Island, I loved the idea of staying close and being near the city. NYITCOM's strong academic reputation, large alumni network, and the environment that the staff and students portrayed really helped me decide on NYTICOM.

NYITCOM is special because: NYITCOM is so special and unique to me because of the camaraderie among the faculty and students. The faculty goes above and beyond when it comes too engaging with their students and always tries to make themselves available to you. You are surrounded by a supportive environment whether it be your classmates, upper classmen or the professors everyone is so willing to help build each other up. Having this support system really makes the challenge of medical so much easier.

Future Plans and Goals: As of right now I am very interested in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine as I have a strong background and relationship to both areas. However, I am very open to a lot of the specialty fields and look forward to experiencing them come clinical rotations. Overall, I want to be able to provide the best care for my patients no matter what specialty I decided on .

I chose NYITCOM because: NYITCOM has an unparalleled commitment to community service, highlighted by their asylum clinic, free health clinic, and frequent charitable events. Our unique school offers "two locations, one program" serving vastly different populations, where we can learn from professors and students from diverse backgrounds.

NYITCOM is special because: Many of the NYITCOM professors are alumni, highlighting the tightknit community and constant support from the administration. NYITCOM's environment is one where everyone feels welcome and heard, with teamwork and community service as core values. We are more than merely students; we are partners in creating the environment needed to educate compassionate and intelligent physicians.

Future Plans and Goals: As a physician, I plan to work in an underserved and disadvantaged community where I can do my part in providing quality health care to those to would otherwise not be able to afford it. Medical care is a human right and must be readily available for all.

NYITCOM is special because: The caring community at NYITCOM is incredibly special. Through every challenge during medical school, I have always felt supported and cared for every step of the way. In addition, the encouraging and enthusiastic atmosphere makes NYITCOM an exciting place to learn.

Future Plans and Goals: I am interested in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Emergency Medicine. My ultimate goal is to practice medicine in my community of Queens, NY.

After speaking with the student ambassadors, I quickly realized that NYITCOM offered a strong sense of community and support to all of its students. I choose NYITCOM because I believed that it offered the best environment to help me thrive as a medical school student.

NYITCOM is special because: What makes NYITCOM special to me is its undeniable respect and support for its students. Whether a student is struggling academically or is just looking for some guidance and advice we know that we can rely on our faculty and fellow classmates to be there for us. Everyone at NYITCOM is always willing to go the extra mile to help one another.

Future Plans and Goals: I plan to become a surgeon and possibly work in a suburban area. I know that regardless of where I end up working I will also dedicate my time and efforts to underserved populations.

I chose NYITCOM because: NYITCOM broadens and offers me a unique opportunity to embrace medicine through the Émigré Physicians Program by empowering me with every benefit of modern allopathic medicine and its practice as well as the privilege of hands-on treatment acquired through osteopathic manipulative medicine. This brings to me the visceral joy and fulfillment of bringing succor together with treatment to the whole being.

NYITCOM is special because: The distinctive focus on the excellence of students is palpable as NYITCOM leverages research, dual degrees, world health as well as interdisciplinary opportunities to maximize the golden chance available to educate and transform the layman to a great physician. The exceptionally heterogenous mix of persons of all background commensurate with the fact that NYITCOM has a cozy atmosphere for studies and education for everyone.

Future Plans and Goals: I was passionate about ob/gyn and it dwindled, it also seems that emergency medicine may be a good fit, but anesthesiology is at the horizon watching me and asking why not, interventional radiology is as well beckoning. I will queue them up and wait for rotations.

I chose NYITCOM because: From my first visit, I knew NYITCOM was the school for me because of the supportive and collaborative environment created by the staff and students. I also knew that NYITCOM has a long-standing, respectable reputation in osteopathic training. The Long Island campus is also in a beautiful, calm suburban area that is still close to NYC and has easily become my second home.

NYITCOM is special because: Something very unique to NYITCOM is comradery and community. NYITCOM is inherently rooting for the success of each student with resources like the academic enrichment specialists, the mental health specialists, and an encouraging staff. The school encourages taking time to stay physically and mentally healthy (which could not be more needed during a pandemic) through the Fit Physicians initiative and health and wellness activities. NYITCOM also emphasizes giving back to the community with opportunities like the Rock Steady Boxing Program and the Community Free Clinic.

Future Plans and Goals: I am looking forward to rotations to help me decide which speciality to pursue. Until then, I am very interested in OB/GYN, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine. I also plan to get involved in academic medicine and continue to learn and practice OMM post-graduation.

I chose NYITCOM because: I grew up only 15 minutes away from the Old Westbury campus, so this incredible medical school was always on my radar. After visiting the school and talking to current students, alumni, and medical professionals, I discovered the shared sentiment that NYITCOM was a tight-knit and supportive program that has a reputable and growing association with the hospitals and medical practices around me. I decided that NYITCOM was the perfect medical school to help me achieve my goal of practicing medicine in the Long Island/NYC area.

NYITCOM is special because: NYITCOM has a collaborative and friendly environment that is fostered between both students and faculty/administration. I have found that this mutual respect and camaraderie allows for us students to flourish in the absence of the 'cut-throat' nature that often is tied to medical school. Students of all levels will go out of their way to share resources or tips to help you succeed. I have always felt supported and encouraged to share feedback. NYITCOM also shares endless opportunities to get involved in community service, student organizations, educational programs, and other means of engaging in healthcare and the community around us.

Future Plans and Goals: I have always been interested in surgery, however I am not 100% decided on a specialty. I am keeping my options for my training and hope to eventually practice in Long Island or New York City.

I chose NYITCOM because: I chose to attend NYITCOM for its amazing reputation and close proximity to many opportunities in its surrounding communities. Many DO's I've worked for were NYITCOM graduates, and seeing their amazing work as physicians demonstrated the schools incredible medical school program.

NYITCOM is special because: Since my interview day, NYITCOM has given immense support and guidance through the process of adjusting to medical school during a very difficult time. Through mentorship programs and continuous activities, I've been able to meet amazing students and faculty members that inspire me to continue to work hard but also allow me to make time for myself so that I can find the perfect balance as I gain the experience to become a well rounded physician.

Future Plans and Goals: I've always wanted a be a Dermatologist, but thanks to the opportunities provided by NYITCOM, I've been able to expose myself to different specialties through our amazing faculty members. Seeing the passionate doctors on campus, I've been drawn to experiencing new opportunities so that I can find the program I feel most excited to be apart of.

I chose NYITCOM because: In addition to being close to the city, NYITCOM seemed to have a friendly and close-knit community. During my interview day, there was great camaraderie between students themselves and between students with faculty. I chose to attend NYITCOM because it was really important to me to go to a medical school that made everyone feel at ease and there was no sense of competition between peers.

NYITCOM is special because: I love how engaging the school is with the students. The school provides so many different activities for students to take part in (from student picnics to game nights) that make the experience more worthwhile. The entire community is collaborative and the faculty truly care about students' well-being.

Future Plans and Goals: My goal is to go into pediatrics, but I'd like to explore the different subspecialties I can pursue in it. I hope to practice here in New York City.

From the affiliations with top medical institutions around the NYC area and the numerous opportunities NYITCOM offers to expand my education and volunteer work, choosing to attend medical school here was a no brainer.

NYITCOM is special because: The staff and faculty here are extremely supportive and available whenever I may need them. I feel as if everyone at NYITCOM wants me to succeed and become the best physician I can be which creates a fantastic environment to learn and grow in.

Future Plans and Goals: At the moment I am undecided on what I want to do as a physician. I am keeping my mind and options open about different specialties I may want to pursue.

I had heard such great things from upperclassmen and graduates of NYITCOM. The campus is beautiful, and everyone is so welcoming.

NYITCOM is special because: The NYITCOM faculty genuinely cares about the students' success, and they go out of their way to help. The students are also very supportive of one another. In addition, NYITCOM helps us to become well rounded students by offering great opportunities to join different campus based organizations.

Future Plans and Goals: I am interested in multiple fields of medicine, and I am not sure yet which area I want to pursue. I do have an interest in being a part of a teaching hospital one day.

NYITCOM is special because: The best part of attending NYITCOM has undoubtedly been the faculty. They are extremely supportive of all students' success and always available for help or just to chat.

Future Plans and Goals: I would definitely like to stay in the NYC area when I practice. I am interested in the field of OB/GYN, but have loved learning about many different facets of medicine throughout my first year. Who knows what will happen!

I chose NYITCOM because: I chose to attend NYITCOM because of the numerous interactions I had with students, alumni and faculty. Anyone who was affiliated with NYITCOM only had outstanding things to say about it. In addition, the school's academic prestige, strong alumni network, and location made NYITCOM the obvious choice for me.

NYITCOM is special because: There are two main reasons NYITCOM is special to me. The first is the sense of community and camaraderie I felt, and still feel, from the very first time I visited the campus. I have yet to find a school as cohesive and supportive as NYITCOM. The second is that many of my personal physicians and mentors were alumni of NYITCOM and to attend the school of physicians I admire is very special to me.

Future Plans and Goals: Currently I am undecided on what specialty I would like to pursue, but I know that I would like to practice medicine in or close to New York. In the future I hope to work in an academic setting to be able to practice medicine and teach the future generation of physicians.

I chose NYITCOM because: I chose to attend NYITCOM because as an osteopathic school I was excited to have a stronger understanding of anatomy and the musculoskeletal system while learning osteopathic manipulative treatments. I also found the faculty and staff were very welcoming and fostered the collaborative environment I was looking for in a medical school.

NYITCOM is special because: NYITCOM is special to me because of its mental and physical health initiatives such as the Healing Path and Fit Physicians. I also appreciate the administration's willingness to evolve and modify the school to fit the needs of the students.

Future Plans and Goals: I'm currently interested in Emergency Medicine but I'm open to wherever life takes me! I would love to practice medicine closer to home in Massachusetts.

I chose NYITCOM because: Out of all the schools I was able to visit while making medical school decisions, NYITCOM stood out by far in that the campus and student-life environment was so welcoming. The students sharing their experiences seemed genuine and down to earth, and they truly appreciated attending NYITCOM. Seeing them feel so comfortable here was a big influence on why I chose to attend.

NYITCOM is special because: The faculty and administration are great listeners and truly care about the students. If we need more from them or see ways that they could make our medical school experience better, they are receptive and work with us to find the right solutions.

Future Plans and Goals: I am very open when it comes to specialties, but I would love to stay in the northeast and get involved in medical education.

NYITCOM is special because: I am grateful to be part of such a collaborative community at NYITCOM. My fellow classmates are always willing to share resources and review difficult concepts with each other. The faculty members genuinely want students to succeed and make themselves available to help however they can.

Future Plans and Goals: Although I have not decided on a specialty, I am currently interested in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and working in an underserved, urban area. I am looking forward to clinical rotations where I can explore many different specialities firsthand!

NYITCOM is special because: NYITCOM is special because the faculty are approachable and they are genuinely invested in providing us with the highest level of education. There are many student organizations with events held every month and there is great camaraderie among students.

Future Plans and Goals: I plan to live and practice medicine in NY. I am drawn towards cardiology and emergency medicine but I am keeping an open mind and looking forward to new experiences during clinical rotations.

I chose NYITCOM because: I chose to attend NYITCOM because it is where I felt most comfortable when I was interviewing. On interview day, I could tell how much of a collaborative environment NYITCOM was and how happy the current students were, which were two important aspects I was looking for in a medical school. Also, NYITCOM is in a great location with many amazing hospitals nearby.

NYITCOM is special because: One of the best things about NYITCOM is how supportive the faculty and staff are of the students. They really want to see us succeed and become great doctors. The faculty are always available for students to ask questions and are very receptive to feedback. I also believe that there are many unique resources the students at NYITCOM have access to, like the Academic Enrichment Specialists and weekly wellness activities and emails. NYITCOM really cares about the mental wellbeing of its students, which is important as a medical student.

Future Plans and Goals: I am interested in a lot of different specialties, so right now I am keeping an open mind. Although, I hope to be in a field that has both long term patient care and hands-on procedures. Also, I would love to move to Boston to practice medicine after medical school.

I chose NYITCOM because: I chose NYITCOM because of its stellar reputation and its excellent location. Also, the first time I stepped onto campus for my interview, the students and staff alike were so inviting and caring. I knew from that point on that NYITCOM was the only place I could imagine myself receiving my DO degree from.

NYITCOM is special because: NYITCOM has such a beautiful and welcoming campus. On top of that, the opportunities for students in terms of research and other clubs and activities are so extensive and easily accessible. The faculty are very willing to take the time to help students achieve whatever goals they may have.

Future Plans and Goals: Currently I am most interested in Orthopedics. Although, I am unsure where I want to eventually practice. My goal is to keep an open mind and take advantage of any opportunity that I may be presented with.

I chose NYITCOM because: The biggest draw to NYITCOM for me was the collaborative community that is fostered at this school. I genuinely feel me and my classmates are all in this together. Everyone is always willing to help each other out.

NYITCOM is special because: Although this year has been a little bit different than usual, with COVID-19, I have still managed to meet some amazing people during my time at NYITCOM. All of the professors and students I have met have really made this year a great one.

Future Plans and Goals: In the future I am very interested in being involved in a pediatric setting, potentially specializing in cardiology. I am excited to obtain more exposure in my third and fourth year to really feel out what area of medicine will be the best for me. I also would love to be involved in academic medicine, whether through teaching or research in my future.

One of the most important factors that influenced my decision to attend NYITCOM was the friendly and supportive people I met on campus during my time as an undergraduate student here at NYIT, Old Westbury.

NYITCOM is special because: NYITCOM is special in that it has a very diverse, yet inclusive community. You get to meet people from various backgrounds, so you have the chance of learning about different cultures. The student body here is very supportive and cooperative as opposed to the competitive culture present at some medical schools.

Future Plans and Goals: I plan to stay in New York after I'm finished with my medical degree. I am open to options in terms of my future specialty, but I am interested in obstetrics and gynecology.

I chose NYITCOM because: I chose NYITCOM because when I visited the campus I felt at home, my interview was fun, inspiring, and motivation; I believe it was apart of my fate to attend NYITCOM in order to pursue my medical degree. I love that NYITCOM embodies team work, well-rounded enrichment, and self-care.

NYITCOM is special because: I enjoy how technologically advanced we are as a medical school. NYITCOM has always been intentional about implementing new technologies and this has been a great plus during the pandemic. Furthermore, I enjoy that many of our faculty and staff are alumni of NYITCOM students that choose to work on campus after they graduated; this shows how much zeal each student has for the mission of the school. Finally, I believe that as a NYITCOM student my voice is heard by faculty in regards to any and all of my needs as a student and person.

Future Plans and Goals: I would like to become an OB-GYN or a General Surgeon, I have always had a zeal for hands on procedures from my shadowing experiences and research. I plan on working in a suburban or, possibly, rural community.

I chose NYITCOM because: I chose to attend NYITCOM because of its excellent reputation and proximity to NYC. On interview day, I witnessed the passion with which current students and faculty spoke about the school, and it was evident that NYITCOM provides its students with an environment that ensures success.

NYITCOM is special because: What makes NYITCOM special is the beautiful campus, knowledgeable faculty, and friendly students. The faculty in every department are extremely responsive and willing to provide the help and support each student needs. The students are very collaborative, forming a wonderful sense of community.

Future Plans and Goals: As of right now, I am not sure which field of medicine I would like to specialize in. I am keeping an open mind as I explore different specialties.
