Our Commitment to Ensuring Your Safety

March 1, 2018

To All NYIT Students:

I hope your spring 2018 semester is progressing well. Given recent headlines regarding gross misconduct by Dr. Larry Nasser and its impact on Michigan State (and beyond), I’d like to take this moment to remind you that all NYIT faculty and staff are committed to your success and well-being both inside and outside the classroom.

To promote a safe, open, and collaborative learning environment, I want to stress that NYIT has zero tolerance for sexual harassment and abuse by any member of our community. NYIT employees are trained to act accordingly and, under NYIT policy, report any inappropriate actions on the behalf of faculty, staff, and students. Members of the NYIT community can report confidentially and anonymously any activities that may be unethical or inappropriate through our compliance and ethics hotline toll-free at 844.241.6853 and online at nyit.ethicspoint.com. You may also contact Cheryl Monticciolo, our director of compliance and Title IX coordinator, at 516.686.1080 or Cheryl.Monticciolo@nyit.edu.

NYIT remains committed to ensuring a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for all students. Thank you for choosing NYIT to pursue your studies. Good luck and best wishes for a prosperous spring 2018 semester.

Sincerely,

Hank Foley, Ph.D.
President, NYIT
