NYIT Raises Semester Cap to 18 Credits

April 4, 2019

To All Students:

At New York Institute of Technology, the student experience is our top priority. Ensuring that you receive the highest quality education for the best value is paramount. From a tuition standpoint, we do our best to ensure that an NYIT education is affordable and offers excellent return on investment for all students.

To this end, I am happy to share with you that we have increased the number of credits you are able to earn under the full-time tuition plan from 17 credits to 18 credits per semester. This effectively allows you to complete up to six three-credit courses per term up from five at the same cost. This affords you the possibility of accelerating your NYIT education by potentially incorporating an extra three-credit class each semester. Since financial aid packages are offered across a finite period of time, this change will also help you to optimize your schedule and finances to ensure you graduate on time.

If you have any questions on how our new 18-credit cap may affect you academically or financially, please contact:

These departments will help coordinate your financial aid with timely degree completion.

In the meantime, I hope you take this opportunity to maintain your academic momentum in the years ahead as you earn an NYIT degree at a more affordable cost.

Good luck!

Sincerely,

Hank Foley, Ph.D.
