Long Island City Campus Update

February 27, 2020

To the New York Tech Community:

I want to take this moment to share with you more about our progress toward establishing a new urban campus in Long Island City. New York Tech continues to be on track with establishing our new, state-of-the-art location there and to open in the 2021-2022 academic year. Although change can be an adjustment, and I understand that, this new campus will provide opportunities for New York Tech faculty, students, and staff not yet even imagined, or previously possible. Some examples include new laboratory space for student and faculty research, common areas that foster collaboration and social interaction, seamless links to New York City transportation hubs, and more.

Every week, we are learning of new biotech and tech companies that are coming to Long Island City, retrofitting space, and launching their enterprises, which bodes well for our future there. They need a diverse, well-educated professional workforce and we will provide it for them. As we draw closer to finalizing our new location, we will update you again on this exciting step forward for New York Institute of Technology.

Sincerely,

Hank Foley, Ph.D.
President, New York Institute of Technology
