Seven Years of the Big Give
The seventh annual Big Give garnered big results. Held on April 2 and 3, this year’s donations brought in $421,596 from 1,134 donors, the largest dollar outcome to date. Over the event’s seven-year history, the Big Give has raised more than $2 million.

The fundraising campaign lasts 1,955 minutes (about 33 hours) in commemoration of the institution’s founding in 1955, bringing together the New York Tech community to help support the student experience at campuses in Long Island, New York City, Jonesboro, and Vancouver.
Before the campaign officially opened, New York Tech’s campuses in New York, Jonesboro, and Vancouver held pre-events in support of the Big Give:
- On March 28, the College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) hosted a pickleball tournament on the Long Island campus.
- On March 30, NYITCOM-Arkansas organized a Fit Physicians 5K. (Due to weather, this event was moved to April 13.)
- On April 1, NYITCOM organized a Fit Physicians Walk/Run on Long Island.
- On April 1, the School of Architecture and Design hosted a Big Give Pre-Party on Long Island.
On April 2, the first day of the Big Give, faculty, staff, and alumni celebrated on the Long Island and New York City campuses with kick-off parties at NYIT de Seversky Mansion and The Empire Rooftop, respectively. To attend, participants donated $19.55. Other events included a cooking demonstration at NYIT de Seversky Mansion on Long Island and a Big Give Benefit Night at Slim Chickens in Jonesboro, Ark. New York Tech’s Vancouver campus hosted a Big Give Walk to New York, where faculty and staff virtually walked to New York, as well as a faculty, staff, and alumni bowling night.
On April 3, anyone who made a gift at the various Big Give, Give Back tables located on all campuses was entered into a raffle. Also on April 3, alumni participated in the fun at an event at X-Golf Westbury on Long Island. A $19.55 donation included the golf simulator, food and a drink ticket, as well as Big Give-branded socks.
“This year, we experienced an overwhelming outpouring of support from alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends, helping us raise over $421,000 for our students and programs,” says Patrick Minson, Ed.D., vice president for development, alumni relations, and external affairs. “The generosity we’ve witnessed is truly inspiring, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who made this achievement possible.”
