News Byte: NYITCOM Shows Appreciation for Faculty, Staff at Fall Fun Event

December 9, 2020

On December 2, NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) faculty and staff engaged in some old-fashioned fun in a new-fangled, socially distanced format. Developed as a way to show appreciation for NYITCOM employees during this challenging year, attendees at the first-ever Fall Fun Event reconnected with colleagues and the campus during a drive to Education Hall for a box lunch pickup followed by a meet-up in the SAC/Library parking lot. Hosted by David Broder, NYITCOM associate dean, and co-hosted by Dost Khalique, NYITCOM director of technology, the drive-through event included remarks by university administration, music, bingo, and a New York Tech-themed trivia contest.

Attendees received NYITCOM blankets and connected to the festivities via Zoom or by tuning in to an FM station in their cars. New York Tech President Hank Foley, Ph.D., Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer Jerry Balentine, D.O., NYITCOM Dean Nicole Wadsworth, D.O., NYITCOM-Arkansas Site Dean Shane Speights, D.O., and Chief Medical Officer Brian Harper, M.D., were among members of the administration offering words of appreciation for those joining in the fun.
