In the Office of Academic Affairs, we are committed to prioritizing the student experience, supporting the personal and professional success of our students and faculty, and creating a safe and supportive teaching and learning environment. We are committed to the university's mission of providing access to opportunity to all qualified students, providing a career-oriented professional education, and supporting research and scholarship that benefit the larger world.

When I took on the role of interim provost, I embarked on a listening tour of our schools and colleges, and appreciate the insights and commitment of my colleagues—our dedicated faculty members and many members of the Academic Affairs staff. I look forward to working with this tremendous group of professionals as we continue to reinvent New York Tech, helping it to evolve into one of the most pre-eminent institutions of higher learning.

In my "former life" practicing medicine, running healthcare organizations, and educating medical students, common denominators include focusing on positive outcomes, building trust and engagement, and showing empathy. These attributes can help transform lives and organizations, and I look forward to applying them to other parts of New York Tech, especially in today's unprecedented environment and also as we partake in the unknown "new normal."
