Old Westbury, NY – Jess S. Boronico has joined New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) as dean of the School of Management. Dr. Boronico brings more than 20 years of experience as a university administrator and educator, during which he has been instrumental in forging strong university-corporate relationships and securing multimillion-dollar grants for university programs that integrate emerging technologies in the areas of finance, enterprise resource planning, and information systems.

Other fundraising efforts supported the development of university centers of excellence to deliver specialized services to the business community. Dr. Boronico also has guided several business colleges through their initial accreditations to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Dr. Boronico and the seasoned team of administrators he has brought with him will be a great asset to NYIT's short- and long-term plans."

In his new role, Dr. Boronico will oversee 53 full-time and 40 adjunct professors. With approximately 1,800 undergraduate and 1,900 graduate students worldwide, NYIT's School of Management offers bachelor's degrees in business administration and accounting, a master's of business administration, and a master's of science in human resources management/labor relations. Professional development programs are offered in human resources management, management accounting, and treasury management. He will also create new programs within the school, develop relations with the business community, and work collaboratively with other NYIT deans on interdisciplinary programs

Dr. Boronico comes to NYIT from the University of New Haven's College of Business, where he was dean and a professor. He was also a dean and tenured professor at William Paterson University and Monmouth University. He has a Doctor of Philosophy in operations research and management science from the Wharton School of Business, and Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has published numerous manuscripts in journals, including Omega, The European Journal of Operations Research, Transportation Research, and The American Statistician and is co-author of the book Computer Simulation in Operations Management. Dr. Boronico has consulted with a number of organizations including the United States Postal Service, and his research focuses on the analysis of reliability-constrained service systems. A classically trained guitarist from the age of six, Dr. Boronico also spent 15 years as lead guitarist for the rock band Babylon.
