(NYSE: MSI) are seeking participants to create innovative applications for the world's first self-contained, WinCE-based, hands-free, wireless headset computer, as part of the 2011 Golden-i®dea Competition and Partner Conference being held on Nov. 16 at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion in Old Westbury, Long Island. Contest entries are due by Nov. 1.

"Our faculty and students in various schools are collaborating on applications for Golden-i® in various industries ranging from health to design."

Developed by Motorola Solutions and Kopin, Golden-i® promises to define a whole new category of wearable mobile communications technology. With full voice, audio, content rich multimedia, and PC networking capabilities, it will fundamentally change how people interact with their PC—and how it intuitively interacts with them.

With more than 100 development kits already deployed, Golden-i® is improving inspection times and accuracy, reducing labor rates, increasing the efficiency of one-man field operations, and ensuring worker safety on job sites globally in some of the most challenging industries: utilities, industrial construction, telecommunications, field service, maintenance and repair, military and public safety.
