Bienstock Shares Insight for Bankrate.com Article
Labor and business law expert Joshua Bienstock, J.D., is quoted in a Bankrate.com article about hush trips, where remote employees work from a vacation destination without revealing their true whereabouts to their boss. Bienstock, who serves as an associate professor in the School of Management and is a practicing employment and labor attorney, says that while he disagrees with the lack of honesty in this approach, he understands why hush trips have become more common.
“Employees are stressed out in a 24/7 world,” he explains. “As more workplaces recognize the utility of remote work, many employees can do their work in any place. So, the thinking seems to be, ‘Why not combine my work and vacation by taking a hush trip?’”
