News Byte: Fall 2020 Student Involvement Fair

September 21, 2020

As classes resume both in-person and remotely, so do many of New York Institute of Technology’s clubs and organizations. Even though many of us are apart due to COVID-19, there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved. On September 15, the Office of Student Engagement hosted a virtual showcase of clubs and activities available to students, both on and off campus.

Each semester, the Student Involvement Fair gives students the opportunity to connect with clubs, learn how to get involved with the campus community, and, more importantly in these times, discover their own community within New York Tech.

Twenty-eight clubs held Zoom panels, each one gaining quite a few guests. Among the many groups that participated were the Black Student Union, the Green Club, Roots, Pride Alliance, and the Society of Women Engineers.

Though campus life will be different this year, many clubs will hold regular Zoom meetings, usually during free hour (12:45 through 2 p.m.) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Learn how you can join a club on Long Island and in New York City. Follow them on Instagram.
