On April 7, 2022, New York Tech President Hank Foley, Ph.D., received an Outstanding Science Alumni Award from Pennsylvania State’s Eberly College of Sciences. He was among seven distinguished recipients of the award this year, recognized for their successes and the impact they have had and will continue to have on society and their professions. Of 60,000 Eberly alumni to date, only 100 people have been honored since the award was established in 1995.

President Foley earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Penn State in 1982. From 2000 to 2004, he served as head of the university’s Chemical Engineering department and the Walter L. Robb Family Chair before becoming associate vice president for research (2004 – 2006), dean of the College of Information Sciences and Technology (2006 – 2010), and vice president for research, and dean of the graduate school (2010 – 2013).
