News Byte: New York Tech in Good Company Among AITU Members

September 19, 2019

New York Institute of Technology is now a member of the prestigious Association of Independent Technological Universities (AITU), a group of more than 20 leading private American technological universities and colleges including Caltech, Carnegie Mellon, MIT, RPI, Stevens Institute of Technology and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Founded in 1957, AITU’s mission is to play a vital role in securing the future of American competitiveness in the global marketplace. It embraces the same core values shared by New York Tech, which include promoting creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship; offering a technology-fueled education that leads to rewarding careers; and nurturing interest in STEM and professional education from K-12 onward.

Members share a common passion and concern for the state of science, engineering, and technical education in the United States. “Our AITU membership represents new opportunities for us to learn from elite institutions as we develop superior academic, research, and career preparation experiences,” said New York Tech President Hank Foley, Ph.D.
