Center for Entrepreneurial Studies Partners with Infor

April 10, 2017

NYIT’s Center for Entrepreneurial Studies (CES) recently partnered with Infor’s Education Alliance Program (EAP) to introduce and train School of Management students in the enterprise software company’s software, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), CloudSuite Industrial (CSI), and the Infor Deployment Method.

The three-year program is designed to equip future IT professionals with the skills they need to thrive in a field with ever-growing technical demands. EAP’s CSI Foundations curriculum is already in use in the school’s Management Information Systems course, which is led by Benjamin Khoo, associate professor and chair of Management Information Systems, and D. Bernard Webster, director of CES. “NYIT students are receiving hands-on training with the CSI software along with the critical business processes which enhance the speed and agility of enterprise companies,” said Webster.

The $391,500 software endowment includes 450 student licenses over the three-year period. At the end of the program, students will be considered for the Infor Scholars program, an immersive internship at the company’s New York City headquarters.

Jess Boronico, Ph.D., dean of the School of Management, plans to incorporate more of EAP’s programs into several classes within the Management Information Systems program. This integrated training approach gives NYIT students an edge as they prepare to enter the workforce. “Offering immersive, 21st century career- and skill-building experiences for NYIT students will only create greater opportunities,” said Boronico.
