Daniel Ferrara, D.O., is currently a consultant and former founder and Northeast Regional President at US Acute Care Solutions – Alteon. a physician-led organization that supports some of the most respected health systems in the United States.

Prior to joining Alteon in 2017, Dr. Ferrara spent nearly 15 years with Island Medical Physicians, PC, of which he was founder and chief executive officer. Passionate about emergency medicine, he started the practice with a goal to provide the highest level of care to patients, regardless of the hospital or emergency room they had been admitted to. Dr. Ferrara has served as chairman of the department of emergency medicine at South Nassau Communities Hospital, New Island Hospital, and Massapequa General Hospital. He also served as the clinical director of emergency medicine at SUNY Stony Brook and was an emergency medicine physician at Huntington Hospital.

Dr. Ferrara completed his emergency medicine residency at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the Bronx, N.Y., and his osteopathic medicine residency at The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He earned a B.S. in Biology at Allegheny College, Meadville, Penn. Dr. Ferrara is currently co-Vice Chairman of the New York Institute of Technology Board of Trustees and a member of the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) Dean’s Advisory Board.
