Dr. Wong joined Mount Sinai South Nassau from Catholic Health Services, where he served in multiple leadership roles at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, NY, including Vice President for Patient Safety and Chief Quality Officer, Chair of Internal Medicine and Chief of Pulmonary Critical Care. During his time there, he was responsible for patient quality and safety issues, risk management, and hospital accreditation. Dr. Wong also co-chaired the performance improvement committee and the patient experience committee, as well as many other clinical and quality initiatives. As Chief Medical Officer, he is responsible for the administration of, and liaison with, all medical staff throughout the hospital, employed and attending.

A long-time Nassau County resident, Dr. Wong attended medical school at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he obtained both his MBA and DO degrees. He then completed his internal medicine residency as well as his Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship at the then-Winthrop-University Hospital. Dr. Wong is board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, Neuro-Critical Care, and hospice/ palliative care medicine. In addition, Dr. Wong is board certified in Hospital Quality and Management by the American Board of Quality Assurance.
