Babak D. Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, published an article, “What 5G Means for Smart Cities,” in SmartCitiesWorld on October 23, 2019.

Babak D. Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, published an article, “What's Needed to Deploy 5G in Rural Environments,” in The Fast Mode on October 22, 2019.

Robert N. Amundsen, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of the Department of Energy Management, was a speaker at the Nassau County Museum of Art exhibition "Energy: The Power of Art" in Roslyn Harbor, NY, on October 6, 2019. He spoke on a panel about the future of energy, including renewable energy, micro-grids, decarbonization, and government policy.

Wenjia Li, Ph.D., assistant professor of computer science, was selected as a recipient of the 2019 IEEE Region 1 Technological Innovation (Academic) Award on September 26, 2019.

Batu K. Chalise, Ph.D., assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering and computer science, and his postdoctoral research fellow, Sudarshan Guruacharya, recently had their paper, “On the Product of Complex Gaussians With Applications to Radar,” published in IEE Signal Processing Letters (Volume: 26) on August 28, 2019.

Milan Toma, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering, presented on the topic of “Computational Assessment of Risk of Subdural Hematoma Associated with Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt Placement” at the 16th International Symposium on Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering organized by Columbia University in New York City on August 16, 2019.

David Nadler, Ph.D., department chair and assistant professor of environmental technology and sustainability, published an article, "Decision support: using machine learning through MATLAB to analyze environmental data," which appeared in the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences on August 14, 2019.

Azhar Ilyas, Ph.D., assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering and computer science, published a research article entitled "Early pregnancy biochemical markers of placentation for screening of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)" in the peer-reviewed journal of Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research & Reviews on July 1, 2019.

Radomir Mihajlovic, Ph.D., adjunct associate professor of computer science, was featured in an interview in a leading Serbian weekly, Pecat, or Time Stamp, on June 6, 2019. Mihajlovic has presented some open source data analysis results related to the Western Balkan economic and political situation. Based on his three dimensional model of the cyberspace conflict, he has correlated all semantic dimension findings with the U.S. interests in the region.

Azhar Ilyas, Ph.D., assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering and computer science, published his research article entitled "Rapid Regeneration of Vascularized Bone by Nanofabricated Amorphous Silicon Oxynitrophosphide (SiONP) Overlays" in the high-impact Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology on June 1, 2019.
