June 29, 2021

Boosting New York Institute of Technology’s identity as a polytechnic++, the university has launched three degree programs that will prepare students to enter some of today’s fastest-growing occupations and in-demand fields.

Applications for these programs are being accepted for fall 2021, training students to take on new and emerging challenges in engineering, healthcare, and business. New degree programs include:

“These future-focused academic offerings underscore our continued commitment to educating the next generation of highly trained professionals, problem-solvers, and visionaries. In addition, these programs will ensure our students’ success by equipping them with the knowledge and experiences required to innovate, heal, and lead in our everchanging world,” said Junius Gonzales, M.D., M.B.A., provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Engineering, Ph.D.

By 2026, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects significant job growth for engineers, and nearly 140,000 engineering jobs have already been added since 2016. In response to these market demands, the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences has launched the Ph.D. in Engineering to address, sustain, and supply a dynamic workforce of future technology leaders. Offering concentrations in bioengineering, electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering, the program will train Ph.D. candidates in fundamental theories, transformative research, and advanced topics that bridge the gap between in-depth research and its commercialization. Graduates will be ready to pursue research and development careers in industry and academia, and also prepared to perform independent research in specialized areas.

Public Health, M.P.H.

The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, an aging population, healthcare inequities, and rising cases of chronic illness have highlighted the need for skilled public health professionals. In line with these trends, the College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (NYITCOM) Public Health, M.P.H., will provide a fully online program tailored to meet the needs of individuals with the desire to pursue a graduate public health education. Highlighting the significance of preventative care, the program will equip students with the knowledge to help create stronger communities, improve environmental health, address health disparities, and minimize the impact of epidemics and natural disasters. Graduates will be prepared to pursue a variety of jobs, including positions as healthcare administrators and policymakers. The program is also well suited for current or future healthcare professionals who seek to expand their public health expertise and qualifications. The program is now accepting applications from current NYITCOM students for fall 2021. For fall 2022, the admissions cycle will open to additional applicants.

Business Analytics, M.B.A.

In both thriving and challenging economies, analytics can arm businesses with the vital insights that organizations require to make informed decisions. Through a tech-infused learning experience that rivals those of the world’s most innovative business schools, the School of Management’s Business Analytics, M.B.A. will train students to leverage technology and data to strengthen organizational decision-making processes. Ideally suited for recent college graduates and business professionals seeking to advance their careers, the program emphasizes technology, critical thinking, data analysis, and leadership development. Graduates will possess the necessary understanding to navigate today’s uncertain business environment and the skills to advance rapidly toward leadership positions.
