A Place for Meditation and Prayer

October 24, 2018

On October 16, NYIT President Hank Foley, Ph.D., and The Muslim Student Association led a celebration for the opening of the Prayer and Meditation Room in Anna Rubin Hall.

The new space is meant to serve and support all students as well as the holistic wellness of the university community. It allows individuals of all religious faiths and non-religious beliefs to experience a place for peace, prayer, meditation, and reflection.

For the ribbon cutting, President Foley was joined by Boaz Tingson, campus staff advisor for the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship; Nadeem Qureshi, M.D., president of Mosque Iqra Dar ul Ehsan of Suffern, N.Y.; Rabbi Yaakov Wilansky of Chabad of Roslyn; and Gabrielle St. Léger, Ed.D., dean of students in Student Life.

The room is available to students for use when Anna Rubin Hall is open. For more information and support, contact studentengagementLI@nyit.edu.
